CHICAGO – BCU’s in-house Wealth Advisors, LLC, and BCU’s newest Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), Life. Money. You., LLC, (LMY) announce their newest leaders, Kristi Mertens and Bjorn Larson, respectively.
In her role as Managing Director, BCU Wealth Advisors, LLC, Kristi Mertens provides leadership and strategic direction to BCU Wealth Advisors, LLC – the Credit Union-owned Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) firm. She is responsible for maintaining the strategy and vision of the wealth management and financial planning division of the Credit Union. With nearly 20 years of experience as a financial advisor, Mertens is taking her passion of helping members achieve their long-term financial goals, creating and maintaining their wealth, and providing comprehensive customized financial plans to the next level by continuing to help drive the entire Wealth Advisors team in Empowering People to Discover Financial Freedom. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and holds her B.A. in Business Administration from North Dakota State University.
Bjorn Larson, Executive Director, Life. Money. You., LLC, provides leadership and strategic direction to LMY – a financial well-being program, providing a growing audience of BCU employees, members, Company Partners and beyond with tools and resources to improve their financial health.
Larson is also responsible for LMY Board management, financial and legal operations and marketing and sales of LMY products and services. With over a decade in the personal finance and financial wellness industries, he has a passion for helping people improve their financial lives in meaningful ways that allows those benefits to be passed down to future generations. Larson is an Accredited Financial Counselor® and holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas as well as a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Bethel University, located in Minneapolis, MN.
